The Wartook Trophy was hotly contested between Horsham and Ballarat Fly Fishers on 12/13 July 2014. The location for this event was held at Lake Toolondo due to recent fires effecting the Wartook Lodge facility.
A magnificent turnout out of some 20 Ballarat members and 10 or so Horsham members.
The comp started on Saturday under some very windy condition and a nip of ice in the air. Fishing was tough but enthusiastic, if you got one it was going to be big. A few break offs, a few touches and a few in the nets was the order of the day.
Saturday night saw lots of yarns and drowning sorrows around a great fire with good company.
Sunday, the last gasp, had the boat ramp working over time, the weather was calm and water still, and fish was on the agenda.
Time was at midday and presentations had Ballarat FF cross the line thanks to Mick McKay and his 60 cm Brown.
Overall great weekend.
